Exercise Three
Giving orders using statives
In commands using words which indicate a state, condition or quality, which are sometimes called statives, kia is used in front of these words. Kia indicates that it is desirable that a particular state be achieved.
Hei tauira:
Kia kaha! | Be strong!/Get stuck in! |
Kia tūpato! | Be careful! |
