Macronised Vowels
Being able to enter macronised vowels (like the ō in Kōwae) is important in Māori language, and is required in Te Whanake Animations. Entering macrons is not part of the standard setup of most computers, however there are several ways that you can set up your computer to do it.
In Te Whanake Animations, we have created buttons that you can use in all the exercises that require the correct text characters to be used. You will see these appear at the top right of your screen when you select a text box. This will work for any modern operating system (Windows XP/Mac OS X/Linux) but only applies to Te Whanake Animations, so you won't be able to use them elsewhere.
Buttons are also supplied in the 'Play a Character' section, however this section does not automatically check your answer. Instead, it allows you to compare your answer to the line in the script. This section is also the only section that does not allow for any other means of entering macronised vowels.
